I started the Body by Vi 90 day challenge eleven days ago. So far, I’m down 7 pounds. Tuesdays, and only Tuesdays are my weigh in days.
I decided to combine my 90-day challenge with a low carb eating lifestyle. I tried this before, and was very successful, but it only lasted three weeks – and I know exactly why. I wasn’t prepared. I didn’t put in enough time to really wrap my mind around it. So, I learned my lesson and this time, prior to starting the challenge with the low carb eating lifestyle, I did my homework.
I have found tons of extremely yummy looking and sounding recipes for Vi shakes as well as for low carb meals. To me, variety is key. I have found lots of tasty alternatives to things like pasta, potatoes and flour. I have found numerous blogs to follow. Every now and then a certain food craving will be the sparkle that ignites a fire in my recipe creation kick. For example, the other day, I was craving a peanut butter and banana sandwich. I love those, but obviously, they are not low carb friendly. So, I made up my own Vi shake recipe and it completely satisfied that craving.
Whenever I get a sweet craving, I either suck on some sugar free lemon drops or I grab some yogurt. Probably one of the best low carb goodies out there is Kroger’s CARBmaster yogurt. It is so amazingly good and each flavor only has 4 grams of net carbs per serving – which is usually one container. They have new flavors out now. Cinnamon roll is one of the new flavors and it tastes just like a cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. I bought just one to try last week, but today, I stockpiled because I will have competition with the kids.
Even if you aren’t following a low-carb lifestyle, this yogurt is still healthy enough for every day consumption for anyone.
